About Me
I am a veterinarian with 17 years’ experience in clinical practice having graduated from Glasgow University in 2007. I grew up in the Grampian mountains of Scotland and emigrated to NZ as soon as I was qualified, to live in a beautiful country which also boosts an abundance of sunshine.
I have worked with most domestic species with a primary focus on horses, cat and dogs. My personal animal family consists of 2 horses, 3 dogs and 3 cats and they bring me so much joy.
I consider animals to be my reason for being on this planet at this time. I have loved animals from birth and I became a vet as I believed this was the best way I could serve them.
Following the global pandemic in 2020 I started to question the motivations of the pharmaceutical industry and how we approach the health of ourselves and our animals. Although I still practice allopathic medicine through locum work for a local Marlborough clinic, I found myself more drawn to energetic healing, something I started learning about in 2004 when I achieved my reiki I certificate.
I qualified as a reiki master in 2021 and this plays an important role in my approach to euthanasia. I also provide reiki healings for both humans and animals and often find myself gathering information intuitively about the physical, mental and spiritual health of my patients. I love working with horses and their riders on this level as mind, body and soul unity is paramount to a fulfilling life in the saddle!
